Bravo

What's your opinion on "That's me" column in "Bravo" magazine. It would be nice to know naturists' point of view on this, particularly German naturists' point of view.

Greetings!

I think the "Thats me" Column is just a marketing-strategy of the publishing company to raise their print-run.
Of course my previous speaker is right with the actuality that young people can compare their bodies.
But otherwise its the only way (except the internet or so) for young boys to have a look at naked girls.

Ok, but what do you think about people who shows their bodies in Bravo? Would you do it?

I think this magazine is terrific and representative of the 'it doesnt matter' type attitude of the European and specifically, the German kids. We discussed it on ynai.com a couple of years ago and gave it good reviews for body acceptance etc.

I also think German bois do not need Bravo to see German girls nude. Unlike their American cousins, many are raised that simple nudity and body differences are not something to hide or be so up tight about.

Like I said, it simply does not matter to most who I know from ynai.com in the German section there.

Bravo..Bravo!

I don't like Bravo, here in Hungary that magazine is making "bad girls" from the innoccent girls who read it. :( This is very sad I think.

Is Hungary laid back when it comes to nudity laid back as Germans are?

anything that promotes a positive body image is a good thing. Too many young people don't like their bodies. The photos don't seem to be pornographic in nature?

I agree with Danee. I really think they should have a column like it in America, I would love to be in one if I wasn't worried about all my friends seeing it and making stupid jokes.

Im not so sure, on the one hand its good in that yeah promotes healthy body image, but also you have to wonder would the magazine sell so well without it?
Sex sells, even to the teen market. And as for sundrop said, I don't think any part of American society would allow full frontal nudity of under-age girls be sold!

I think as you do as far as thinking modern, Rach. Europe is more accepting and once you get past the hysteria factor, realize that parents give permission and really appreciate this magazine which is rich in history (like 50 years now?), its wonderful. On the internationalyn.org forum, we have a section dedicated to it and the Ask Dr. Sommer type format. Its run by our moderator from Holland, Martijn, who belongs to the Young Dutch Naturists, and is in school over there. Some is in humor but its all positive and fun and people dont take it too seriously. Thats the danger with all of this....taking it too seriously, yet, the value that comes from advice and photographs is extreme, if its taken right.
