Naturism in other countries

What do we all know about naturism in other countries? Those of us here in the UK believed that it is widely practised in Germany, but sadly, this does not appear to be the case from what I can gather from other posts on this forum.

From the YNAI forum (www.ynai.com) I know that north America has a similar attitude to the UK & that naturism is not always well received whereas in places like France & Spain, it appears to be very common & very acceptable.

It would be interesting to hear what our German friends perceptions are of naturism outwith Germany & Austria. I have seen a couple of comments regarding naturism in Croatia & would like to know how many members of this forum have visited Croatia & what they thought of it. Also, I noticed there are a few members on the forum from Scandanavia, another region which we in the UK have been led to believe is vary naturist friendly. Is this the case? Perhaps some members from the Ukraine/Estonia/Latvia areas (I think there are some) may also tell us how naturism is viewed in their countries.

Hope to see some replies soon!

RE: Naturism in other countries

I would be interested to see how it is perceived as well.

Does anybody know how people take to naturists on the Black Sea coasts? I have read that it is accepted, but I would like to find out if anybody knows from personal experience (or, at least, better than what I have read).

In Germany I think naturism is mostly accepted. There are many lakes with special naturist areas, but unfortunately, there are also some where naturism is prohibited, whereas it is normal to be naked while having a sauna. In public places this is obligatory in the majority of cases. :)

I think it wise to have special areas so that the textiles who feel threatened do not...feel threatened. I think the German atttidude towards many things socially is so logical and positive of course. Growing up without shame, not being afraid of normal nudity, things like that. Perhaps in America it will be the same one day -- in about 492 years!

I've heard it's quite big in Croatia ? I've seem that there are a lot of holiday resorts there. If you take a look at www.pengtravel.co.uk it has a lot of destinations.

I've been trying to get my mum to book one :)

Sorry Melissa (& DerSuperguru), but I'd have to argue the point & say Scotland is the greatest nation in the world .. but us Celts have to stick together, Melissa so, we'll agree that the only thing that spoils where we live is being stuck with the English as neighbours! (Joking, honest!).

I have to concede that from naturist point of view, Scotland is not very 'n' friendly. Good to hear that Wales is a wee bit better, Melissa. I was aware there were a few beaches down there in Wales & obviously, you have a slightly warmer & drier climate than we have up here making naturism more agreeable, but we really need to change attitudes in the UK before we can hope to have the same level of acceptance that Germany (& most of Europe) appears to have.

Croatia does appeal to me too, & I've heard some great reports about the facilities there & how generally accepted naturists are treated there. Unlike here in the UK (& north America, I'm sure Danee & Jessie would agree), naturism in Europe doesn't appear to be ageist. It's practised by all ages, from young children through to folks in their 80's, & significantly, it seems acceptable for teenagers to be naked in mixed company at resorts, beaches & saunas, whereas here, sadly, this is most definitely not the case.

Apart from clubs & beaches in the UK, Melissa, have you & your family ever tried any European resorts/beaches? I've been to Las Piteras in Lanzarote a couple of times with Peng Travel & must say, I loved it. Las Piteras is very popular with Germans too & I wonder if any members from this forum have been there? Lanzarote is my favourite Canary Island & has many excellent nude beches, especially the Papagayo area in the south of the island. I would love to hear of alternative beaches there & anywhere else in the Canaries, if anybody on here has been there.

well.....I would say, that Croatia is a great country for nudists.I have been there twice in the area round Vrsar....that´s in istrien. The Camp is called Koversada. It´s a very huge area.....if you wanna see the whole "isle" it would take 1 hour. There are supermarkets and restaurants as well........the only thing that sucks is the fact, that few people wear bikini oder shorts, although it´s forbidden. Another thing is,that most of people are older.....I won´t detail my opinion of "old"..... ;)

but nevertheless it´s a beautiful part of croatia with beautiful landscape and nice people.

but for those, who plan to visit Koversada,I would suggest to eat in restaurant.......supermarkets are very expensive....

hope to help you out......

I have also heard Croatia is very nice. Its a place I would love to go. Its supposed to be absolutely beautiful. A girl I know from school went there this past summer and loved it. The pictures were amazing.

I have found that people in western France and in Holland are pretty accepting of naturism.

I posted this in ynai as well, but does anybody know much about naturism in China?

I would still go there anyway, even just for the scenary. I'm not too big into what the crowds are like, unless its just a bunch of dirty old men. I just love going to new places.

Hye,

I went to several of the countries you just mentionned :

Croatia : just great for naturism I've seen people naked everywhere near the coast. It's very easy to find some quiet places to get naked and you just have sea everywhere. The country is beautiful...

Germany : naturism is very well accepted. I live at the border, in germany I can go to 5 naturist beach not driving more than 30 km.

France : the part where I live, we have 1 naturist beach in the french side (Remember 5 in germany). There is a huge difference between north and south of the country the southern part is the one you'll find almost all the nudist resorts in the northern parts of the country you don't have that many opportunities for naturism. The french guys attitude to nudism is particular : their think they are crazy people and laugh at nudist people a lot in the media for example

Belguim : You'll find only one naturist beach in the northern part of the country called bredene, as far as I know there are no other nudist beaches in Belgium.

Sweden : I did not see anybody on beaches getting naked, maybe I didn't go to the good places, but the land is so huge and full of seas and rivers that you always can find opportunities for naturism

This is my personal experience hope you have others to share.

Last summer i was in Saint Tropez in France and it was really nice there.

But to go to an FKK- Beach in Sweden would be my absolute dream. So when someone has a house there or wants to accompany me so please tell me that.

Thanks :)

In the Netherlands people are quite open about naturism :)
There are quite some naturist beaches and lakes, and also some resorts.
At clothed beaches/lakes women quite often sunbathe topless anyway.
But as anywhere else, I guess: look around you see where it is safe and relaxing to sunbathe nude. I myself always go with friends or family, so we're not being harassed that much :)
And there's a simple solution to harassment on the internet: just ignore them :)

The Netherlands is definitely open about naturism. I had my first naturist experience there when I was pretty young. I have not been to Denmark though. Does anybody know about how open they are about naturism in Romania?

Hi i am a new member from Singapore, and i stumbled across this board when i came to know about FKK through tourism of Germany.Naturism is verboten(forbidden) here because of the culture.

I discussed about this matter to other singaporeans and they said that the reason was due to way we were brough up.But there was a Foreigner that said that equal number of people in Europe have a positive view toward FKK,while the other dont like.Is this true?

For me,i feel that we should have a place for FKK for tourism and for us people.

Welcome ceecookie to FKK Jugend Chat! :)
Having FKK tourism in Germany and the remaining of the European Union would be cool.
