Olympic athletes pose nude

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-…ry-Beijing.html

is it possible that the Olympics go back to its roots, or is it just sexualizing sports for commercials?

I agree sex sells, and a corporations duty is to sell a product as well as they can, it is unfortunate though. Going back to the true roots of the Olympics would be something to think about

I like it. But these pictures are only for commerce of course.

For sports i wear clothes, too. It's more practical.

It certainly isn't in swimming. Danee comes from Florida, the home of mud wrestling. She can tell us if its practical to wear anything. :D

Florida is the home of mud wrestling? Gosh, I didnt know that! :)

The only mud wrestling I have seen here has been once when I was younger going to a bike week in Daytona gathering and it was interesting to watch but..... :D

The only time its practical to wear anything when one is swimming or in a pool or ocean or lake is when its appropriate!

I think it isn't possible, cause not every athlete might agree toit and maybe some spectators see it as disturbance

Thats very true, Daniel and of course, logic. It can never happen as we are the minority but it wouild be special to have a N olympiad too, I think. There is one in Florida for College kids during spring break, though any age can attend and its not well attended but at least they have fun! I think there are others too, in S. Australia for example but a full, IOC Nude Olympics? No way, it cannot happen. Plus with the various aspects and beliefs of the many countires, it shouldnt either as we would alienate too many of them.

We can always have special Olympics for that though but did you know, in ancient Greece, only bois participated? And, further, girls were NOT allowed to watch! At least we have changed this far!

Danee's right about that. Some girls cut their hair and tied their boobs down so some could pass. Some were stoned - with rocks when they were found out.

There was something else created for the girls called 'Herad' after Hera.

No chance for the full frontal nude IOC Olympics!
IOC tries to get as many countries as possible into the movement, but considering cultural constrictions towards nudity in so many countries it would exclude too many! :(
But nowadays some clothing (swimming, athletics) is sooooo thin that one might think we have almost nude Olympics already... :D
