Bad accesses, lack of signalling and non-existence of supports of beach. These are some of the preoccupations of the Portuguese naturists, got used to resort to Spain and to other European countries for the practice of that philosophy of life. The Algarve has excellent natural conditions for this type of tourism, but they are lacking that you structure. Nothing that obstructs the realization of a national meeting in the beach of the Wine cellars, Odeceixe, in weekend of 4 and 5 of June.

The shame of the nudism in Portugal

I always wondered why people think that the body should be covered at all times. I think it's comfortable and easier to relax nude. It's a shame that it was a positive outcome from the beaches. It's what we are taught young.

We were in Portugal and we could also go to the beach naked.It was not forbidden or so. I can find out for You if You want to know where it is.

I was under the impression that whilst naturism is not actively encouraged in Portugal, with there being so many beaches, it was easily possible to find a quiet area & enjoy yourself 'au naturale'.

Common sense must prevail obviously, but I don't think the Portuguese are much different from their Spanish neighbours when it comes to nudity on the beach.

Portugal has strict laws about nudism as all european countrys.Still Portugal has many nudist destinations and is really worth visited if someone is a naturist

I have been to an - unofficial - nudist beach near Lisbon and nobody cared. I as told that Police only controlled from time to time if people were doing improper things in the bushes behind the beach but nobody molested the nude people, so I wonder if anti-nudist laws exist or are applied

@Andrea: you are right Andrea, Spain is great for nudism. probably not all ares. but for example, in Barcelona, it is ok if you naked at the city beach.
